UPDATE on Mary Lou

I’m not sure how many know but Mary Lou was back in the hospital again this week.   I emailed Pat Hitchcox regarding how she was doing.  She has returned home as of today, Thursday, 4/26.  Here is info I received from Pat Hitchcox.  Prayers needed for Mary Lou and her family.  Let’s send her some more get well wishes.

Hi Melissa, I just got off the phone with Mary Lou’s husband, Ralph, she just now got home. She had a second stent put in the front of her heart yesterday. (Last week in was the back of the heart) She did not get much rest in the hospital, they went in the vein near her groin, and it would not stop bleeding. Ralph said she is exhausted, needs to rest.  She needs prayers, bless her heart. She has been taking care of Ralph so much lately. Please let everyone know, she is home recovering. Please keep in touch, Hugs, Pat

UPDATE: Mary Lou is home

Prayers needed for Mary Lou Gentry.  I’ve been informed that she’s had a mild heart attack and is in Harton Hospital in Tullahoma.  She will be there for a few days since she will possibly need a stent put in.  Please keep Mary Lou and her family in your prayers.

Melissa

Just wanted to update everyone……Mary Lou Gentry got released from the hospital this afternoon.  This is wonderful news.

Wishing you a very speedy recovery Mary Lou.  Take care of yourself and get plenty of rest.

Elva’s Brownie Recipe

Here is the brownie recipe that some of our members have been asking for.  Sorry to take so long to get this on here.   Melissa

Crème de Menthe Brownies

Bottom Layer

1 c. sugar

½ c. butter (room temperature)

4 eggs, lightly beaten

1 c. all purpose flour

½ t. salt

1-16 oz. Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup (This is a metal can of Hershey’s syrup…do not substitute in any way…I did and it won’t work well at all).

1 t. vanilla

Cream butter & sugar, then add other ingredients in order listed. Mix well. Pour into greased 9X13 inch pan. Bake at 350* for 20- 25 minutes. Let cool completely.

Middle Layer

½ c. butter (room temperature)

2 c. powdered sugar

3 T. crème de menthe syrup

Cream butter, powdered sugar & crème de menthe well and spread over cooled brownies…let set.

Glaze

1 c. chocolate chips

6 T. butter

Softer butter in microwave, add chocolate chips & mix well. Let cool until it spread well. Spread over brownies & refrigerate until set.

Enjoy!

SDP Dues URGENT!!!

Received the following from our President, Benita, regarding payment of SDP membership dues.  Please read and check to make sure your SDP membership dues have been paid.

Melissa

According to our by-laws, 1.   Membership in the Middle Tennessee Decorative Artists requires that all Chapter members be a member in good standing in the National Society of Tole and Decorative Painters, Inc. under any classification of membership.   2.  Dues shall be paid annually by active members, and shall be payable to correspond with the National membership dues each calendar year.  3. Failure to pay annual membership fees shall result in withdrawal of membership and use of insignia and emblem of the society.

I was contacted by SDP on March 17th concerning new members who had not paid their SDP dues.  After contacting the new members it turned out that the dues had been paid but were not posted to SDP’s books until March 19th.

Today I was again contacted by SDP and now they are asking for our 2012 roster.  Apparently they are checking to be sure that everyone has paid their dues.  If you have not paid your 2012 dues, please get them in to SDP as soon as possible for MTDA to remain in good standing.

Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
Benita
