Japanese member from past OK

Jean, some have been asking about Nobuko and her family in Japan. I thought this might be something to post.   Nobuko was an active member of our chapter while living here due to her husband’s work.  Mary Shoemake has kept in touch with her through the years and recently heard from her.  Nobuko said her family were alright  but experienced motion sickness from their apartment swaying due to the quake.

What a BALL!!!!!!

If you didn’t get to go to Retreat, you really missed a great time.  We had a lot of new attendees and that was fun, but it is so inspiring to walk around and see all the beautiful work going on.  The conference ran with out any major hitches and everyone seemed to have a BALL!!!!!

If any one took photos please send them to my personal e-mail and lets share all the ideas and fun stuff.

Former member’s Husband dies

Recieve this from Carlene Fricke and I know alot of us still miss June Stellar.

Hey, Jean.  Thought you all might want to put this on the MTDA website since June used to be a member.  George was her husband and I think was sick for a number of years.  June was a great worker for the chapter and is one of the members that worked very hard to put on the convention here in the 90′s.  She lives in Benton, Ky.

Subject: George

Just wanted to let everyone know that George slipped peacefully away early this morning and is finally at rest after a long hard fight.
There will be no services as per his request, direct cremation and then sent to California to await a navy ship to go out to sea and then a burial at sea.  We plan on a memorial for him, possibly on his birthday, we discussed a celebration of his life with us.  Thank you all for your prayers.

June.

WOW!!! Blown away

WOW!!! I am so sorry being sick I have not been checking the website enough so I have alot of people to respond to.  Please forgive me, but out of lemons we can always paint the lemons as we drink the lemonade, because it has made me realize that this darn web site is really working.  Plus a great benefit is after the meeting Melissa Fox is going to be my back up and if anyone wants to help like Shirley Hopper and Melissa, please let me know the more the merrier.

I am going to try and get back to some routine so I will clean up the craft show page, please look at the seminar pages for the projects for Karen Hubbard, I will put them in a post too for archives, will try and learn how if any way to do some of the flyers you girls are sending me.  I am trainable!!  We will get the Helpful Hints Lady ideas back and do the Weekly Projects.  I am not 100%, but this is a good start.

Thanks,

Jean

Comments about the Christmas Party

It was a great party and I thank you for all your efforts.  The best part of all was the musical part your beautiful daughter sang for us.  I loved it.  Have a good turkey day.  Loretta

Jean,   Thanks for all you do for us & please know that it does not go unnoticed!
I absolutely LOVE my palette pin!  thank you, thank you,
I was disappointed that I did not get one of our girls pins, since we were at our own table,  with pins that we worked on” forever” and therefore not excited about.   But your gift of the palette made up for that! Calysta
The pleasure was all mine, for my small part in the Christmas Party.  Thank you for your leadership and talent that you so lovingly share with me and the rest of the girls.  I enjoyed the party and the preparation for it so very much as well as being able to share with each of the girls.  The thanks is  yours for allowing me to be a part of this lovely group of ladies.  Betty

Weekly Projects

Wow, even though my computer has been up and down, I have still been painting.

I am currently taking some classes with Christy Pilkinton, someone that specializes in portraits and has studied with Daniel Greene and Igor Babailov.  Now get this, I am studying with this wonderful teacher to be able to do the backs of my Grandsons sitting on rocks on Montauk Bay with their other Grandfather, Salvitore Mazzola.  There is not alot of face – just a side view, but I do so want to get it right and oceans, clothes and faces are not something I have really done.  Ms Loretta, says I just love to learn and I guess she is right.  But, that is the glory of art, the food that feeds my soul and lets me share my heart.

Will try and take a photo when done, or bring to the Christmas Party.  We are full and getting ready.

My Computer had been at the GEEK hospital

Sorry, girls, for not corresponding, but my laptop has been at the GEEK Hopsital so I have been silent, while some of you might like that – it has been lonely.  I am just not trying to get everything back to order, and have received some great photos, but my internet connection is a little off and will spend the day trying to get it strong enough to down load some of this great stuff.  Please bear with me and hopefully we will be back on track for our Monday talk.
