I have just received word that our member LaJuana Whitwell has been admitted to the hospital with Covid. Her husband, Eddie cannot be with her due to Covid. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers during this time.

Dear MTA Member

Due to the ongoing situation with the COVID19 virus,  your MTA Board has decided it is in the best interest of our Members to cancel the March meeting at this time.  We will assess the situation again in two weeks and decide then if we will reschedule the meeting along with the bag workshop for some time in April.

At this time the Purdy Vanier Seminar is still scheduled for April 23-25.
Should this change Debbi Weston will contact those signed up for the Seminar.

The health and well-being is of utmost importance to the Board resulting in this decision and our hope is that everyone understands.  Take care of yourselves and we pray that you all will remain safe and healthy.

You have the possibility of painting on any surface you choose. Debbi Weston has already checked on the bakers box kit. It is $25 unassembled as long as we get at least 20 to purchase. This includes shipping. It is $25 assembled and $20 shipping if you want it that way. This bakers box surface has been discontinued but JB Wood will cut it for us.

Just an update on the Shovels and Baker’s Box – I have sent off an email to find out the minimum they will accept. Not everyone is interested in those surfaces especially since they can be painted on anything. The Baker’s Box painted design is only 12″ x 6″ tall. How Elve’s Make Snowpeople is 8 1/2 x 9″ and Magic Broom Ride is 9″ diameter round box. When I spoke with Prudy she stated any of these designs could be enlarged to fit on any surface you would like. She prefers that you NOT reduce them. Please share this information with anyone you know who is not on Facebook. Thank you all for your patience.

Please bring all finished Christmas ornaments to the meeting on Saturday. Craft shows are starting and we want our ornaments to be in some of those shows. We are supporting Ways & Means, which supports the painting group. Thank you so much to those that have already painted and turned in ornaments. Your time, talent and hard work are greatly appreciated.

Ways & Means is also offering lunch for after the meeting on Saturday as well. We will be having Subway 4″ cold cut sandwich, chips and fruit for only $6 (you may pay at the meeting). I am personally loving the meals that are being served after our meetings because it is one less thing I have to worry about. Our Ways & Means chairperson, Vivian Karros is doing a fantabulous (I made that up) job of coming up with ideas for raising money for our paint group. When you see her on Saturday, please give her kuddos on a job well done so far. (We are trying to get her to continue next year, so the more encouragement the better) LOL!!!

Also, if you would like some of your painted pieces to be on display at the Linebaugh Library in Murfreesboro, please bring those pieces to the meeting on Saturday as well. Those will go to Laurie Coates and she will be getting the pieces to the library. I believe that this is a fun and amazing way to display our talents and also to possibly get more people to join our painting group. Thank you to Laurie for this great idea.

It is also time to turn in retreat projects at the meeting on Saturday as well. If you plan to teach a class at retreat, please bring your project along with a color photo and the form (filled out) that was in the newsletter. Projects will be turned in to Betty Hooper, retreat chairperson.

Don’t forget, if you were saving toilet paper inserts for Sandee Lemons to bring those to the meeting as well. Sandee will also be teaching our workshop after the meeting. Get those pieces basecoated with desert sand before coming to the meeting. The line drawing and instructions will be handed out at the meeting.

I am sorry this post is so long but we have lots going on for this meeting. I hope you all don’t mind the reminder. Melissa
