First, I apologize to Janet Hamm for taking so long to get this on our blog.  I’ve been having some computer issues and can’t add things to the blog from my phone.

I think most of you know, but in case you don’t, Janet Hamm’s husband, Ken, passed away on Thursday, April 7th.  Please continue to keep Janet and her family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Sad news…..

Harriett Parrish, a longtime MTDA member, was listed in the death notices.  She was 97. Among her survivers is her sister, Evelyn Mason. She  was also one of our members and they both attended many retreats. Too bad we did not know of this while we were in Manchester.
…..Joyce McKelvey

Friendly Reminder:

If you haven’t sent in your registration for retreat, you’d better hurry.  If Melissa doesn’t receive by Feb. 1, you’ll be missing out on all the fun at Retreat & we’ll be sad to miss you.  Last chance…hurry, hurry, HURRY!!!

Hello MTDA members,

I  recently received an email from SDP stating that my member number has changed.  Please check your emails for this note from SDP.  Remember, you will need to get with Fonda Kopski and let her know your new number.  It might be helpful if we all brought a copy of the email to the Christmas party to give to Fonda so she can record the correct numbers.

Also, remember to renew for SDP before December 1st to avoid the $5 late fee.  When you register, you will be taken to the Craft & Hobby Association website for payment.

Thank you,

SEMINAR   There have been questions regarding painting the mat for our Thursday seminar class, Floral Fantasy.  Cindy contacted Arlene and here is the info she received….the question has been raised if we are suppose to paint the mat black for the Floral Fantasy. Arlene does not ask you do that but I ask her if we paint the mats would it be easier to fix mistakes. She agreed it would be helpful to paint your mat first so you can fix mistakes.  In other words it is up to you whether you paint the mat black or not. I would suggest you paint the mat black, using a roller brush, then spray lightly with matte spray. Then trace your pattern on very lightly.

If your plans have changed or you have realized you do have a free day this week call Cindy Moore ASAP to let her know you want to come to the Arlene Linton Seminar Thursday, Friday and/or Saturday. She guarantees a great time with friends. She will even get your surface prepped for you.

CHRISTMAS PARTY   Just a friendly reminder….deadline for signing up for our MTDA Christmas Party is November 1st. The price for our lunch is $15. Please send money to Melissa Fox. If you need my address, please send me a message. The theme for our party this year is “Christmas Fantasy”. Remember to paint an ornament for our ornament exchange. If you paint an ornament, you receive an ornament. We will also be having free Make it/Take it projects as well. November 21st is the date for our next meeting/Christmas Party at our normal meeting place, Matthews Memorial United Methodist Church in Madison. Contact Barbara Sayer or Lajuana Whitwell if you have any questions. Hope to see you there.

PRAYERS NEEDED  Please keep Fonda Kopski in your prayers.  She is having surgery Tuesday, October 20th.  Send her speedy recovery wishes.
